Head Maintenance Mechanic Fran Crawford immediately extinguished the fire.
BOCES Safety Risk Management and the New Berlin Fire Department were both contacted and emergency responders were headed to the school to inspect the equipment. Out of an abundance of caution the district held a fire drill to assess the building and the safety of students and staff.
The daily schedule, including food services, are continuing as normal today with minor adjustments. We will provide any updates if needed.
All students and staff are safe. We would like to thank Fran Crawford for his quick response to this incident.
