Dear UV Families: 

Unadilla Valley is thrilled to welcome you back to a new and exciting school year. As we aim to ensure the safety and smooth operation of our school’s drop-off procedures, we would like to share some important new guidelines. 

All bus routes have been sent to families in a separate communication. 

 Please read all the information below, as there are significant changes.

 DROP-OFF TIMES AND LOCATIONS 

 Drop-Off Hours: 7:35 a.m. – 8 a.m.

 Grades PK-3 Drop-Off Location: Elementary Circle (Elementary doors - red on map)

 Grades 4-12 Drop-Off Location: Jr./Sr. HS Circle (South Side of the building - yellow on map) - walk to District Office doors in front of the building. 

 If you have students in both upper and lower grade levels: Please drop-off at the South (Jr/Sr School) side of the building and they will walk District Office doors.

 DROP-OFF PROCEDURES 

1. Stay in the Drop-Off Circle. Staff members will be present in the Elementary Circle to help PreK-3 students get out of the car and get into the building. Grades 4-6  may exit the vehicle and proceed to the District Office doors in front of the building. You do not need to go to both circles for drop-off if you have children in upper and lower grade levels. Younger children may be dropped off in the secondary circle with the older children then walk to the District Office doors together to enter. 

 2. Be Prompt. Ensure that your child is ready to exit the vehicle quickly with all necessary items to keep the line moving efficiently.

 3. Safety First. Do not let students exit the vehicle on the driver’s side or before reaching the drop-off point. This is to prevent any accidents or disruptions in traffic.

 4. No Parking in the Drop-Off Circles. If you have a meeting or appointment and need to walk your child to the entrance, please park in the parking lot at the end of the building where you have the meeting and walk to the Jr./Sr. or Elementary entrance to be buzzed in.

 5. Follow Directions. Please follow the directions given by our staff members who are there to ensure the safety and efficiency of the drop-off process.

 6. Late Arrivals. If you have a student in grades PreK-6 and they arrive after 8 a.m., please park in the Elementary parking lot and walk your child to the elementary office to sign them in. Students on the Jr./Sr. high school side of the building may sign in without a parent/guardian, but if you do walk them in, please park in the Jr./Sr. parking lot and go to the Jr./Sr. main office to be buzzed in. 

PICK-UP PROCEDURES 

 At this time, pick-up procedures will remain the same as they were in the spring. 

Grades PK-3 will be received by parents in the elementary parking lot. 

Grades 4-12 will be received by parents in the Jr./Sr. High School circle on the south side of the building. 

We are continuing to look at options to enhance this process to ensure the safety of our children. We will be making changes to this process in the weeks following the start of school. We will communicate any and all changes to parents/guardians. 

 Your cooperation in adhering to these guidelines is crucial for the safety of all our students and for maintaining an orderly drop-off process. Thank you for your attention to this matter and for your continued support.
