We are excited to welcome back our students tomorrow. We wanted to give you a brief update on the ongoing capital project, as you may see some of the construction activity.
While the rubber roof system is complete, the safety flags used by the contractors remain in place as they complete metal coping installation work. There will be no impact on normal school operations.
The new concession stand and restroom building is taking shape, with the shell of the building up. That part of the project is expected to be completed by the end of October. In the meantime, the construction site will be fenced off and not accessible to the public. Spectators for our fall sports will have access to that area of the campus in order to attend athletic events.
The capital project work also included replacing heat pumps in the front corridor of the first floor, which includes most district offices. This included a new ceiling grid and updated, dimmable LED lighting, which is more efficient. Select classrooms also got the same lighting and HVAC upgrades. A new kitchen freezer component was also installed. Completed work includes new flooring in parts of the Elementary and Jr./Sr. High School wings that was part of the separate 2024 Capital Outlay Project.
As with every summer, our facilities crew was busy doing a complete deep clean of the kitchen, classrooms and offices.
We look forward to the start of the new school year and would like to thank our own facilities staff for their hard work, as well as our contractors.
