Many thanks to Preferred Mutual for their generous $3,100 donation for our Reading is Fundamental program! Our RIF program has been running for 45 years. In the past, the federal RIF program would fund 75 percent of the cost of books, and schools would be responsible for the remaining 25 percent. Now, schools have to raise 100 percent of the cost of books to keep the program running. Through generous donors, like Preferred, we are able to continue the program. We will be able
to provide each elementary student at UV with 2 free books. They will receive the first book just before Christmas break. The second distribution will be in June, so each child has a new book to read over the summer. Thanks again Preferred Mutual!
