As we communicated earlier this year, Unadilla Valley CSD is receiving extra support from New York State due to its designation as a Target District under the state’s Every Student Succeeds Act plan.

As part of this support, UV is working with the state to develop a District Comprehensive Improvement Plan (DCIP) and a School Comprehensive Education Plan (SCEP). For any plan to be successful, there needs to be good information informing its development; this is especially important for a school district.

We are surveying district stakeholders to ensure our district has the best information possible as we develop these two plans. Through our Family Voice Survey, we seek honest feedback from our families about what is working, what is not, and what could improve your student’s school experience.

You may access this survey at the following link: Family Voice Survey

The Family Voice Survey will be open from now through May 2.

If you need a paper survey, please call Valerie Verry in the district office at 607-847-7500 ext. 1131.

In addition to getting input from parents and caregivers, we will also survey students. We expect to provide their surveys after we return from spring break on Monday, April 28. Our staff and faculty members were surveyed on Wednesday, April 16.

We will review the data once we have collected all of the survey responses. We anticipate having a report on the findings at the Board of Education meeting on Monday, June 16. This report will also be available to our families.

In addition to these surveys, we will form focus groups of stakeholders to help provide us with feedback on specific areas where we know we need to improve. All of this information will guide us as we develop and adopt our DCIP and SCEP plans for implementation when students return in September 2025.

Because this is such an important process for our school district, we will release monthly updates as we move forward, with the first update coming at the beginning of June.

If you have any questions about Unadilla Valley’s designation as a Target District, the surveys, or the development of the DCIP and SCEP plans, please feel free to contact Stephanie Cooper, Assistant Superintendent, at scooper@uvstorm.org.

Thank you for your help as we strive to improve our school district.
