Dear Parents/Guardians:
We hope you are having a great summer! We are gearing up for the new school year here at Unadilla Valley.
We
would like to invite you to our annual “Back to School Night.” The
events will take place on Tuesday, August 30 and August 31, 2022 from 5 –
7 p.m. on both nights. The two events will be identical and you only
need to attend one. Food, drinks and treats will be provided. Please enter the building at the District Office entrance into Storm Alley.
We are hosting our “Back to School Night” to give parents and students the opportunity to bring their school supplies in and put them in their classrooms and/or lockers. Parents and students will have the opportunity to tour the building, meet the new administrators, and learn about various technology platforms that will be used throughout the year. School issued devices will not be distributed at this event.
For secondary students, we will be running an activity designed to help students practice navigating their schedules. Students will receive their schedule as well as a passport document when they arrive. Students will be asked to navigate their schedule and obtain a secret symbol that will be posted in each of their classrooms. They will need to record this symbol on their passports. Submission of completed passports will qualify students for prize raffles.
Elementary students will be able to leave their clearly labeled supplies in their classrooms and participate in a quilting square activity. These squares will be turned into two quilts (Prek-2 & 3-6) which will be unveiled on the first day of school and show what we can do when we work together. We will also have prize raffles using their square as their entry for some new Storm Gear!
Sincerely,
Michelle Hardler, Elementary Principal
Brendan Coyle, Secondary Principal
Keith George, Dean of Students
