It was a packed auditorium at Unadilla Valley today as our longstanding tradition of honoring our area veterans continued.
A scaled down event was held last fall, as the district reopened that school year under pandemic restrictions. But this year, the tradition resumed with a full blown tribute as Elementary students celebrated their veterans with songs, artwork, essays and more. Nearly 30 area veterans were recognized. Another 70 family members and friends of both our students and the veterans were on hand to enjoy the program.
The UV cafeteria staff and National Honor Society members collaborated on preparing and serving a special breakfast for veterans. Thank you also to Chobani, who donated food items.
Margaret Starr and Mallory Johnson assembled our traditional flag wall, which recognizes hundreds of area veterans.
Thank you all for your service!
